RECEIVES THE CAUGHT BEING ACTIVE AWARD

North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, February, 2008 –Hillcrest Intermediate School which is part of Norwin School District has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Walk4Life “Caught Being Active” Award for its exemplary school and community efforts to promote and implement physical activity programs for its students and their families. The P.E. teacher who is also the Health and Physical Education Department Head who is accepting the award on behalf of Hillcrest Intermediate School is Mary Ann Stevens.

Kate B. Reynolds Foundation Gives $1 Million
Raleigh, NC, 1/14/2008 — Thirty-three North Carolina public schools today received grants from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust totaling $1 million to improve physical education programs for students. John Frank, director of the Health Care Division of the Trust, presented the funds to the State Board of Education and the NC Department of Public Instruction at a news conference with State Superintendent June Atkinson and State Board of Education Vice Chairman Wayne McDevitt.
